CS2 Bob Command: What You Need to Know in 2025

The CS2 bob command used to let players control their weapon's movement animation while playing Counter-Strike 2.
However, Valve has removed this feature in a recent update.
Previously, players could use the command "cl_usenewbob" to adjust how their weapon moved on screen. This setting helped some players improve their aim by reducing the weapon's movement.
Other players preferred the default setting for its realistic feel.
The change came with Valve's left-hand update. After this update, all players now have the same viewmodel animation. You cannot modify this setting anymore.
Many players have tried to use the old commands in their console, but these attempts will not work. The command is completely removed from the game.
This change marks a shift in CS2's design. Valve wants all players to have the same visual experience. We will update this article if Valve decides to bring back weapon movement controls in future updates.
