Posted in CS2 General— 1 min read
Port forwarding in CS2 can fix connection issues and reduce lag. This guide shows you the exact ports and steps needed.
Required Ports for CS2:
- TCP: 27015, 27036
- UDP: 27015, 27031-27036
Here is how to forward ports for CS2:
- Go to your browser and enter your router IP (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1)
- Enter your router login details
- Find port forwarding in your router settings
- Add a new port forwarding rule
- Type your PC's local IP address
- Enter the CS2 ports listed above
- Save your settings
- Restart your router
If you can't find the port forwarding option, check your router's manual. Each router brand has different menus, but the process stays the same.
You can also use a VPN with Meshnet features. This option is easier and adds security, but direct port forwarding often gives better speed for CS2.
I noticed better ping and fewer connection drops after setting up CS2 port forwarding. The game connects faster to servers, and I get fewer timeouts during matches.
Remember that port forwarding opens specific connections to your network. Always double-check the ports you enter to avoid security issues.
