Can You Play CS2 with a VAC Ban?

A VAC ban from CS will prevent you from playing CS2 on VAC-secured servers.
This happens because both games use the same Steam account system and Valve Anti-Cheat technology. The ban specifically blocks you from joining official VAC-secured servers.
Despite having a VAC ban, you can still:
- Play CS2 on non-VAC secured community servers
- Play offline with bots
- Access the game's menu, inventory, and check out a CS2 unboxing site like Skincade
- Trade items (though with some restrictions)
The ban is permanent and linked to your Steam account. Creating a new Steam account is one way people try to get around VAC bans, but this means buying the game again and losing your previous skins and progress.
